The Truants Vietnam Bike Ride

ROOKIES

Rookies cannot apply, they must be suggested and proposed by a member of the Truants Committee. That sponsor needs to send them the Rookie Application Form (RAF  – this form,) to complete and then the committee member should sign and  send to Rookie coordinator, the rightly honourable Adam Tyrer, and cc Helen (Coordinator of All) Curl. Adam will present all RAFs at the following Committee meeting for approval (email details on the bottom of the form).

The unbreakable Rule is that a Rookie must raise at least £10,000 as is agreed when you “clinked” with the sponsor!

On the form you will need to write in the minimum amount (above this figure) you expect to raise, bearing in mind that this will be the tie-breaker should we have too many applications, which it certainly appears we will have for Vietnam …we do of course expect anyone proposed by a Truant Committee member to be of true Truant material so cash for the kids is the target! Supply and demand for a great cause.

A Rookie applicant should also fully immerse themselves in this website as any questions you may have concerning the ride will be answered on here. Of course you are more than welcome to contact Helen Curl at Phantom if you have an out of the box query!

The importance of badges and T-Shirts and Rules and Regs in the Truants only section should be studied carefully and check the Hall of Infamy to make sure there is no one in our gang that you ill disposed to, there may be a few!!

Once you have been fully approved by a majority of committee, you will be notified by email and invited to officially register for the ride. The full fee will be payable on registration. See the Costs page for more details. Note that it being their first ride, all Rookies must pay the full amount of the trip, so we are sure they are there as we must have a full complement of 6 Rookies and this makes sure of that.

A gap of 2 weeks is granted between acceptance and Registration as demand is high for places.
