The Truants Vietnam Bike Ride

Dear Sponsors,

Thanks for your many and generous contributions to our Truants’ Vietnam Bike Ride 2020 on behalf of Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy, Teenage Cancer Trust and ChildLine/NSPCC. We are very pleased and proud to announce that on our 10^th Anniversary we are immediately donating £790,000 these Charities, a new Truant Ride record surpassing the £605, 497 raised in India 2017.

All of the costs of the ride were covered separately by all our 40 Riders, so 100% of your donations go direct to the Charities. This amount is being split equally between these three Charities.

Over the 10 years since our first ride along the Nile in Egypt in Jan 2010 the Truants have now raised £4,005,000. We do hope you will continue to support us for Nordoff Robbins, Childline and the Teenage Cancer Trust and we will continue to get ourselves on our bikes every couple of years and of course continue with the Golf Days and Heavy Metal Truants on an annual basis when we can.

NORDOFF

This is incredible and we thank you very loudly indeed. We are working really hard to keep helping the children we support during these unprecedented times. The continued support during this time is humbling as we know everyone is being impacted in one way or another.

Once this is over I am very much looking forward to celebrating with you at the dinner and the chance to thank so many people who, in spite of the challenges we are facing as a society, continue to support those that need it.

Seeing the news from you all today about the remarkable, record-breaking amount you have not only raised from the Vietnam ride but the speed with which you are transferring the vital funds to us was the most amazing start to the day.  We are all living in unusual and peculiar times and seeing friends and supports of the charity, and most of all young people with cancer, step up and support like this is so deeply appreciated. Thank you doesn’t quite cut it when it comes to how deeply, deeply grateful we are but right now it’s all I have – thank you!

Those funds, and your support, have never been needed more.  Young people with cancer need us more now than ever before and seeing our family of supporters step up is both humbling and hugely powerful – not just for us but for the young people themselves as it lets them know they aren’t alone and aren’t forgotten.

Thank you so much for doing so much to help us still be here for children. What you and your fantastic team of Truants has been immense, we appreciate it so much.

We are so grateful for your tireless efforts for children. Please do rest assured that with us being contacted by a child every 25 seconds and with such logistical difficulties at every turn for us, your contribution and on-going support is making a truly exceptional difference. I’ll be delighted to let Esther Rantzen know – I know she will be as thrilled as we are.

We know children need us now, more than ever. Thank you for everything you continue to do in support of us – we are here with you every step of the way and mile on the saddles!
